Halstead has been associated with the 'In Bloom' movement for many years.
In the early 1990s entries by Halstead Town Council were successful, a
certificate to this effect hangs at Queens Hall.
By 2000 the focus was much more on community-led teams and
Michael Portway was asked to gather a group of volunteers to form
Halstead In Bloom
Halstead is now the Flagship Town of the Braintree District!
Halstead In Bloom is now a registered Charity - no. 1104804
